How do I place an online order?

Ordering online offers fast and secure access to a virtual warehouse of AHIMA resources. To place an order, follow these easy steps:


  1. Browse through the product offerings either by type (audio seminars, books, certification, and so on). You can also filter the list of offerings within each category. Or use the Search utility at the top left-hand side of the page.
  2. When you find a product you wish to purchase, click the Add to Cart icon under that product.
  3. When you add a product to your shopping cart, our system will prompt you to log in.
    1. If you are a member, enter your AHIMA ID number as your user name and the password you use to access all AHIMA secure areas (Communities of Practice, Member Profile, and so forth)
    2. If you are a nonmember and have previously purchased a product or registered with us and have an AHIMA ID number, enter your AHIMA ID number or e-mail address on file with us and the password you have previously created.
    3. If you are a nonmember and have never purchased from AHIMA or do not have an AHIMA ID number, fill in the information under Create AHIMA Account button. You will be asked to provide an e-mail address to create a password.
  4. Once you have logged in, you will see your shopping cart. You can change the quantity of products you wish to order, continue shopping, or check out.
  5. Once you have selected all the products you wish to purchase, click the Continue to Checkout button of your shopping cart.
  6. The system will allow you to specify your billing address and shipping address, and provide payment information. You can review your order before submitting it. When you submit your order, please click the Process Order Now button only once. Otherwise, you may be charged multiple times if you click repeatedly. Please note: it may take up to 30 seconds to process your order.
  7. Once your order has been processed, an order receipt page will appear with your order number, and an e-mail order confirmation will be sent to the e-mail address you provided.
  8. If you have any questions regarding your order or would like to change your order, you can submit a customer support request, or call (800) 335-5535, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT. Be sure to have your order number handy.

How do I find the products I want?

The online AHIMA store has several features to make it easier to find the products you need. You can select the product type you are interested in and filter the list further within each type. Another way is to use the Search utility (at the top left hand side of the page) to search by keywords, or use the Advanced Search option to filter results by product category and keywords.

How do I change my order?

If you haven't submitted your order yet, you can go to your cart, change the quantity number, then click the Update Item(s) button. To remove an item in your shopping cart, simply click on the box under the Sel (for "selected") column, and click the Remove Selected button.

If you have already submitted your order, you cannot change it online. To make changes or cancel, call (800) 335-5535, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT. You can also submit a customer support request. Be sure to have your order number handy.

What if I want to return an item?

AHIMA guarantees your satisfaction. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may return eligible, undamaged products for full credit minus shipping and handling. Some restrictions apply. Refer to Returns. Audio seminar CDs, prerecorded webcasts, eBooks, and MP3s are nonrefundable.

Is it safe to use my credit card online?

Yes, you can be sure your online transaction is private and secure. AHIMA employs Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), an advanced encryption technology to protect your personal and credit card data. For maximum protection, AHIMA recommends you use a browser with 128-bit encryption. Both Netscape and Microsoft provide free downloads of 128-bit encryption versions of their browsers at their Web sites.

If you are interested in purchasing an AHIMA Online Education Course, it is understood that you have read and are in agreement with the "AHIMA Enrollment Agreement" document.

For Bookstores
Bookstores are entitled to a 20 percent discount off the regular price on AHIMA publications. The discount does not pertain to co-published books or other publishers' titles.

Can I order books, audio seminars, and other products at the same time?

Most products go into the same shopping cart for added convenience. Merchandise (for recognition weeks and the AHIMA logo line) and registration for meetings will take you to external Web sites. Those items must be purchased separately.
