With the October 2015 implementation date of ICD-10 on the horizon, there is a push for increased specificity in documentation in order to process a claim appropriately and compliantly. Documentation must reflect appropriate levels of services provided as well as accurate assignment of codes, therefore reducing the risk from incomplete or unclear information, and support high-quality patient care in the process. Increasing volumes of OP Services are being provided and make up a significant portion of facility revenue. This presentation would focus on the impact of ICD-10 from the OP perspective and identify the anatomical specificity required for certain in high volume diagnoses. Participants will also learn the differences between ICD9 and ICD10 with regards to OP coding and documentation.
