Basic ICD-10-CM/PCS Coding Exercises was created to give beginning coders practical, skill-building experience. Designed with industry expert input, it can be used as a companion to Basic ICD-10-CM/PCS Coding or as a stand-alone workbook for students new to coding practice.

Basic ICD-10-CM/PCS Coding Exercises presents more than 400 de-identified records of patient care encounters—rather than one-line diagnosis statements—to train students to make realistic diagnostic and procedural coding decisions. Cases from real healthcare encounters that reflect the reality of coding today provide professional knowledge and the practice needed to master the effective application of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.

The book uses the 2015 ICD-10 codes from the December 2014 code release.
